Jack Canfield was born in 1944, was often known for his Chicken Soup for The Soul series books. Jack is a writer, an entrepreneur, a motivational speaker, and also a corporate leader. He graduated from Linsly Military Institute, received an A.B. in Chinese History from Harvard University, and also honorary Ph.D. from the University of Santa Monica.
Jack started his career as a school teacher in Illinois, worked at the Clinton Job Corps Center in Iowa, and managed to get into the W. Clement Stone Foundation and worked directly under the wings of the success titan, W. Clement Stone. He ran a Gestalt center and was named as the Ten Outstanding Young Men of America (TOYA) in 1978.
In 1993, Jack co-authored a book with Mark Victor Hansen called Chicken Soup For The Soul, and the book was a mega hit. The book was considered one of the best-selling books in the United States in mid-1990’s by USA Today. Like wildfire, Jack and Mark continued to publish the book series which spawn into more than 250 titles, branched into different categories such as pets, foods, and television programs. The Chicken Soup for The Soul series has sold more than 500 million copies across the world and has been translated into more than 40 languages.
Jack was also known as the “America’s #1 Success Coach”, and in 2005, he co-authored a book with Janet Switzer with the title, The Success Principles: How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be, which was a national bestseller. His other best-selling books including The Aladdin Factor, The Power of Focus, You’ve Got to Read This Book!, and more.
Jack Canfield holds the Guinness Book World Record for having seven books simultaneously on the New York Times Bestseller List. He has been featured on more than a thousand radio and TV programs worldwide and the author who had won the American Booksellers Book of the Year Award and also the Southern California Book Publicist Award.
