Emanuel James “Jim” Rohn was born in 1930, he was an author, an entrepreneur and also a motivational speaker. Jim Rohn has been active in the personal development industry giving speeches and seminars for more than 4 decades. He was considered a true legend that has influenced millions of lives and inspired many including the world-famous Tony Robbins.
Rohn started his career as a departmental clerk in Sears. And in 1955, he was inspired by an entrepreneur named John Earl Shoaff. He quit his job and joined Shoaff in direct selling business AbundaVita and then started Nutri-Bio. After both companies went bankrupt, Rohn was invited to give motivational talks and seminars sharing his story and his philosophies. In 1963, he gave a public seminar in the Beverly Hills Hotel and this quickly shot him to stardom.
At the heights of his career, he was so successful that he has mentored Mark R. Hughes, the founder of Herbalife International and also became the coach to the famous success guru, Anthony Robbins. There were also plenty of others who credited their career success to Jim Rohn, including the Chicken Soup book series creator, Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen, entrepreneur and author Brian Tracy, T. Harv Eker, Todd Smith and more. Besides that, Rohn has also co-authored the novel Twelve Pillars with Chris Widener.
Jim Rohn has written and published more than 25 books and also audio and video programs, including his two masterpiece books, The Art of Exceptional Living and Challenge to Succeed.
The National Speakers Association awarded Rohn the CPAE award in 1985 for his excellence in speaking. Rohn played an important role in the personal development and motivational industries. He has coached, inspired and touched millions of lives worldwide, and passed away in 2009.
