Robert Greene, the American writer who was born in 1959 was famous for his books on power, strategy, and seduction. Up to date, Greene has published five international best sellers, The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, The 33 Strategies of War, The 50th Law and Mastery.
Before becoming a writer, he worked more than 80 jobs, including as a construction worker, a translator, magazine editor, and Hollywood movie writer. In 1995, he met a book packager named Joost Elffers and pitched him on his book idea about power.
Eventually, Greene’s first book, The 48 Laws of Power was published. And that became the turning point in Greene’s life. The book sold millions of copies and became an international best seller. It was read and recommended by many celebrities, Olympic athletes, and entrepreneurs such as Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Ludacris, Drake, Brian Grazer, Michael Jackson, and even Will Smith.
In 2001, Greene published his second book, The Art Of Seduction, as a sequel to his first book. The book featured many historical figures like John F. Kennedy and Duke Ellington. The Art Of Seduction has been mentioned in Neil Strauss’ book, The Game.
And in 2007, Greene’s third book, The 33 Strategies of War was published. Soon after that, The Sunday Times regarded the book as, “an excellent toolkit for dealing with business and relationships,” and The Independent called Robert Greene as “a modern-day Machiavelli.” The book also became the NBA player, Chris Bosh’s favorite book.
Not only that, in 2009, Greene worked with the rapper, 50 Cent and published his fourth book called The 50th Law. Soon after the release of the book, it became USA Today’s best seller and was ranked #5 in the New York Times’ best-seller list. And in 2012, Greene released his fifth book, Mastery. The book did well, was featured in CNN Money, Fast Company, Forbes, Business Insider, Huffington Post, and reached #6 in the New York Times’ best seller list.
