Robert Toru Kiyosaki was born in 1947 in Hawaii as a fourth-generation Japanese American. He is a motivational speaker, entrepreneur, financial educator and famous author to the Rich Dad book series.
Kiyosaki started his career with the Standard Oil’s after graduated from college. And he also joined the Marine Corps and was awarded Air Medal during the Vietnam War in 1972. After that, he worked for Xerox and then started his own company selling surfers wallets. Kiyosaki’s business did not go well and in the later years, he chose to work as a motivational speaker for a personal development business called Money And You.
The popularity of the business soar and Kiyosaki made a fortune from there. However, in 1994, he left Money And You and followed his own path. At age 47, he co-wrote the book with Sharon Lechter, and Rich Dad Poor Dad was born in 1997. The book quickly became a hit and shot Kiyosaki to stardom in the financial education world. The book sold more than 26 million copies and became a household name. Oprah Winfrey endorsed the book on her TV show and Will Smith said that he was inspired by the book too.
Kiyosaki then continued to publish books in the Rich Dad series and many other books including Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing, Rich Dad’s CASHFLOW Quadrant, Rich Dad’s Increase Your Financial IQ, Second Chance, and he also co-authored a few books with the Donald Trump with the titles Midas Touch and Why We Want You to Be Rich. Kiyosaki’s books are available in more than 109 countries and been translated into more than 51 languages.
Three of Kiyosaki’s first books, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Rich Dad’s ‘Cashflow Quadrant’, and Rich Dad’s ‘Guide to Investing have been listed #1 simultaneously in New York Times, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. Over the years, he has been interviewed and featured on many TV shows and news channels such as Fox Business, CNBC, Bloomberg, Larry King Live and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
