Stephen Richards Covey was born in 1932, was a famous business and leadership author, a businessman, a keynote speaker and also an American educator.
His most famous book was The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and his has also written numerous books in other titles such as First Thing First, The 8th Habit, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families, The Leader In Me, Principle-Centered Leadership, One Child at a Time and more. Covey earned his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Utah, an MBA from Harvard University and a Doctor of Religious Education (DRE) from Brigham Young University. He was a professor at the Utah State University at the time of his death.
Stephen Covey was recognized as one of Time magazine’s 25 most influential Americans, and his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People has sold more than 25 million copies and has been translated into more than 40 languages worldwide. When the book was first transcribed into the audio version, it became the first non-fiction audio book that sold more than a million copies. Many of Covey’s books also went into the best seller’s list including The 8th Habit, First Thing First, and Principle-Centered Leadership.
Chief Executive Magazine recognized The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as one of the two most influential books of the 20th century. Covey was co-founder and vice chairman of FranklinCovey, he has been awarded the International Entrepreneur of the Year Award and also The National Entrepreneur of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Besides that, he also won the Speaker of the Year in 1999.
In his lifetime, Covey served many clients including government organizations, universities, students, many of the Fortune 500 companies, individuals, and even former US President Bill Clinton.
