Zig Ziglar was an American author, a salesman and also a motivational speaker. He was considered the legend in the personal development industry. He was born in 1926 in Coffee County. Zig joined the V-12 Navy College Training Program and then went on to attend the University of South Carolina. Upon graduation, he started his career in sales for several companies, which he became very successful in selling. In 1968, he became the vice president and training director for the Automotive Performance Company.
Due to his success in the sales industry, Zig started providing coaching and launched his training programs. He published his first book, See You at the Top in 1975 and the book was very successful. And so he continued to write and publish other books and audio programs including Confessions Of A Happy Christian, Zig Ziglar’s Secrets of Closing the Sale, Top Performance: How to Develop Excellence in Yourself and Others, Over the Top, Better Than Good: Creating a Life You Can’t Wait to Live, and his last book before his death, Born to Win: Find Your Success Code, which was published in 2012.

Zig was featured and recommended by many through the media including the New York Times, Success, Fortune, The Washington Post, and also Esquire. He has appeared on The Phil Donohue Show, The Today Show and 60 Minutes. Zig received the Master of Influence Award in 1999 presented by National Speakers Association, and won the Lifetime Member Award and also Cavett Award in 2001.
In his lifetime, Zig has written more than thirty books and ten of them were listed as the best sellers and were translated into many languages selling across the world.
